WORK RELEASE DEPARTMENT

Work Release allows inmates incarcerated in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail the ability to remain employed in the community while serving a sentence imposed by the jurisdiction in which the offense occurred. Through Work Release, the inmate has an opportunity to regain his/her worth by establishing a good record, both on the job and at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional jail. This allows the inmate to continue to support his/her family unit and meet their financial responsibilities.

Work Force allows inmates to work on projects outside their housing units and on the grounds of the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail under the supervision of certified staff.
